Antioch University Examines the Crisis of Mass Incarceration in the U.S.

This Fall, to commemorate the academic tradition of Convocation, Antioch University Los Angeles will be hosting a series of activities exploring a critical social justice issue of our time: mass incarceration.

Convocation is meant to be a time when we come together as a community, when we assemble and convene around our shared purpose and reflect on the important work ahead, which makes it an ideal moment to reflect not just inwardly on our own institution, but to shine a light on issues that impact us in our global community. All are encouraged to participate in as many events and activities as you wish. Each activity will stand on its own, and you will likely find threads and themes that run throughout.

As a democracy, we owe it to ourselves and our communities to consider how these issues and our own lives intersect with the incarceration crisis. We hope these events will spark reflection and conversation about our individual and collective roles in shaping a better future for all.
