At the City Council meeting tonight at 7 pm on June 25, 2018, the council will revisit the mayoral rotation policy. This may be a point to address the controversial decision on April 30 to disregard the policy that had just been passed in February of 2017. A complaint was filed with the city attorney alleging that there had been a violation of the Brown Act. While the council has decided that there was no violation, the decision to bring the matter of mayoral rotation back to the agenda may reflect on subduing the controversy around the original motion to dismiss previous policy.
Set on tonight’s agenda at Action Item 1, the discussion and possible adoption of a resolution is expected to draw considerable public participation.
