On July 8 & 17, the Actors’ Gang will be auditioning for our Summer Teen Conservatory!
This will the most fun audition your teen will ever experience – it will consist of ensemble-based theater games, an introduction to “the Style”, and a short interview for us to meet each actor individually. The participants don’t have to prepare a monologue, but simply come prepared to play. This is not a traditional audition, but more of a mini-workshop, so there’s room for fun only! Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes!
Our Summer Teen Theater Conservatory explores The Actors’ Gang signature acting technique referred to as “The Style,” based on the physical and improvisational form of Commedia dell’Arte, a 16th Century Italian theatrical form that entails a high level of focus, a strong connection to emotions, and a heightened awareness of ensemble. The class will end with a final presentation open to family, friends, and the community.
All of our youth classes are taught by active members of The Actors’ Gang.
