Black Talkies to Kick Off 2017 with ‘Serena’

GTY_serena_williams_jt_150911_4x3_992Black Talkies On Parade starts off 2017 with a very special screening of the 2016 documentary Serena. Directed by Ryan White, the film follows Serena Williams during her 2015/2016 tennis season as she chases the coveted tennis Grand Slam, which consists of winning the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. The film also shows scenes from Serena’s life off the court including training, spending time with her family, and her fashion line. Serena is a rare look into the complex life of a champion tennis star and should not be missed. Your afternoon host will be Executive Director Lloyd Clayton and following the screening there will be a Q&A with the producer, Brandon Carroll, and editors Kate Amend and Helen Kearns.

Screening is FREE!
