Gotanda Departure Leaves an Opening for CCMS Principal

CCMS-Logo-300x109Culver City Middle School will be saying goodbye to Principal Dr. Linsey Gotanda, who will become the next Director Of Secondary Education in Palos Verdes Unified pending Board Approval later this week.

From CCUSD Superintendent Dr. Joshua Arnold – “Dr. Gotanda’s leadership at Culver City Middle School has been tremendously valued by students, teachers, and families, and we thank her for contributions to her colleagues and community as she moves on to this next chapter of her professional life.

While the timing of this transition may not be ideal, we are deeply committed to recruiting a national-caliber principal for Culver City Middle School that can further the sustained efforts of all of our students and teachers. Beginning today, we will be posting this vacancy across our various recruitment channels, and will conduct our search with urgency and fidelity as we identify a panel of CCMS stakeholders to participate in panel interviews later this month.

Supporting the teaching and learning efforts of our teachers and students is always a top priority. To this end, Director Of Curriculum and Instruction Tracy Pumilia will be on site at Culver City Middle School to work closely with Assistant Principals Elsy Villafranca, Christine Lobitz, and the entire CCMS Leadership Team during these first weeks of school.

Rest assured, our vision of excellence will absolutely remain the same. And it’s because of our teachers and staff that students thrive through leadership transitions so gracefully throughout our District.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership for all things Culver City. We’re a special place to live, work, and go to school. And I’m looking forward to a transparent and timely recruitment and selection process for the next (and amazing!) principal of Culver City Middle School.”
