From Culver Crest to Sunkist Park, residents who were up in the early darkness noticed how dark it was – no street lights, no porch lights – electricity was out from 4:34 am until 6:19 am.
According to spokesperson Susan Cox at So Cal Edison, the power outage was caused by palm fronds interfering with equipment at Jefferson and Sawtelle, and repairs are currently underway.
The outage affected 1,482 customers, and the blackout borders were Culver Boulevard, Bristol, Slauson and Ballona Creek.
