The Daniel Lee for Culver City Council 2016 is proud to have received the enthusiastic endorsement of Democracy For America (DFA). DFA has a long history of supporting progressive candidates locally and nationally. Founded by former Presidential Candidate, DNC Chair and Governor Howard Dean DFA is distinct because it is a truly member driven organization where, “every endorsement and issue campaign we run is inspired and informed by the knowledge of our on-the-ground, grassroots members.” The list of candidates that Democracy for America has endorsed in 2016 range from Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders to US Senatorial Candidates Kamala Harris, Tammy Duckworth and Allan Grayson to more local candidates like New York State congressional candidate Zephyr Teachout and candidate for Mayor of Stockton Michael Tubbs.
Democracy for America National Chair had this to say about the candidate: “Daniel is a proven leader who has a demonstrated commitment to working for a just, sustainable world for all. His wide experience, education and resourcefulness would be an envy worthy asset of local government.”
Lee had previous received DFA scholarships to the Rebuild the Dream conference in October 2011 and Netroots Nation. “We are particularly proud of this endorsement”, says Lee, “because it comes not only from passionate DFA members from around the country who steadfastly support candidates with high values and standards but because it also comes as a result of the support of local DFA members in Culver City and the greater Los Angeles area.”
