Each April, Farragut Elementary celebrates its heritage as an arts and technology-focused elementary school by hosting its Artworks! fundraising events. These three events raise funds to help Farragut continue to provide extensive and high-quality arts education for all students. From a part-time Artist- in-Residence teaching bi-weekly visual arts classes, to music and theatre programming for all grade levels, the Artworks! fundraisers help make drama, dance, music and art a part of the daily life of nearly 600 students.
The entire Culver City community is invited to join the parents, students and faculty of Farragut and participate in three exciting Artworks! events:
* Fiesta On The Hill, scheduled for Saturday, April 16th from 6-10 pm at the Baldwin Hill Scenic Overlook, is an exciting grown-up only party featuring a casual dinner, lively music, desserts and a silent and live auction. Tickets are $25 per person and are sale at the Farragut PTA/Fan Club website at www.farragutschoolcommunity.org.
* Immediately following the Fiesta is the annual Artworks! Auction, open for bidding from April 17-26. More than 300 items are typically up for auction each year, including fine art, gift cards, tickets to museums and sporting events, video games, DVDs and special experiences with Farragut staff. The Artworks! Auction will be hosted on the Bidding For Good – simply search for Farragut!
* The Artworks! series of events ends with its Community Arts Day on Saturday, April 23rd from 11 am until 4 pm at Farragut. A free, family-friendly event, Community Arts Day features hands-on workshops led by ADD and performances by groups including ADD. All Farragut students will also have a piece of their own artwork on display. Community Arts Day also features delicious food, a fun photo booth, a silent auction and a gift boutique.
Farragut welcomes both direct and in-kind donations to support these events from local businesses and individuals.
