New-large-home-in-ConstructionThe City Council and Planning Commission are pleased to invite your participation in the following Joint City Council/ Planning Commission agenda item:  The Planning Commission will consider adoption of a resolution to ratify its previous action taken on October 21, 2015 to recommend to the City Council approval of proposed Zoning Code amendments regarding the subject of large single family developments (“mansionization”) and potential new development regulations.

The City Council and the Planning Commission will conduct a joint study session to discuss “mansionization” and receive public comment on that topic. Note: The City Council will not be considering or taking action on a proposed Ordinance at this meeting.

The Planning Commission has held four public meetings at which they discussed the issue
of “mansionization” and received public comment on this subject (three study sessions
occurring on 07/22/15, 08/26/15 and 09/16/15; and a public hearing on 10/21/15, at which
they adopted a recommendation on proposed Zoning Code amendments and deferred other
undecided issues to the City Council for further discussion). The City Council and Planning
Commission will discuss the Planning Commission’s recommendations and the undecided
issues at this joint study session. The City Council and Planning Commission will also be
receiving public comment on the subject at this meeting. The City Council may also ask
questions of staff and the Planning Commission.
