Kathy-Mackinnon1Antioch University Los Angeles (AULA) welcomes new member, Kathy Mackinnon, to its board of trustees. A longtime, successful creative life coach and presenter with an office in Los Angeles and international clientele, Mackinnon will serve an initial three-year term on the 16-member board.

“I’m honored and excited to join such a vibrant team of men and women on the board of trustees,” said MacKinnon. “I look forward to serving Antioch University Los Angeles’ students, faculty and staff.”

Since 2003, Mackinnon, who holds a master’s degree in education with a concentration in organizational development from Antioch University New England, has worked as a self-employed creative life coach. Based in Los Angeles for nearly a decade, she empowers individuals around the world to reach their full potential, personally and professionally.

Mackinnon works with individuals from all walks of life, but specializes in helping young adults in their twenties get where they want to go. Her goal is to help her clients find work, promote themselves successfully and take charge of their careers to turn their dreams to reality.

From 2006 to 2009, Mackinnon directed the southern California office of Vive, Inc., which provides therapeutic mentoring and parent coaching to at-risk youth and their families. In that role, she managed clinical and administrative staff, and facilitated programs, team building, client outreach, and marketing efforts.

From 2004 to 2006, Mackinnon worked with the Women’s Health Resource Center at Dartmouth College in Lebanon, New Hampshire, helping women successfully navigate life transitions. As an instructor, she created two popular, life-changing courses. The Life Mapping Course helps individuals to pinpoint which areas of their life are working well, and which areas need growth. The Fear Factor Course examines the role fear plays in our decisions and our lives, and how to reduce its impact. To date, more than 600 men and women have completed the courses, and are living more intentional, fulfilling lives.

Dr. Tex Boggs, AULA’s president, applauds her achievements.

“Throughout her career, Kathy has demonstrated exemplary leadership and skills in team building, and in empowering individuals to reach their goals. She will be a wonderful addition to AULA’s board,” he said.

A former professional improvisational actress for 15 years, Mackinnon is a frequent national presenter and dynamic workshop leader. She regularly publishes numerous articles on a variety of topics including career changes, goal setting, and preparing for retirement.
