The Culver City Democratic Club will have the honor of hosting our State Senator Holly Mitchell at their next General Meeting this Wednesday, August 12 at 7 PM in the Rotunda Room of Veterans Memorial. Senator Mitchell will be discussing the SCA 5, a bill she co-wrote with state Senator Loni Hancock, an addresses proposition 13 reform. A Q & A session will follow afterwards. All interested people are welcome.
Senator Mitchell chairs the Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services and belongs to the Senate’s leadership as a member of the Rules Committee, also serving on the Health, Insurance and Labor Committees. She founded and chairs the Senate Select Committee on Women and Inequality, belongs to the Select Committees on Children with Special Needs and on Biliteracy and Dual Immersion Programs, and is a member of the California Legislative Black Caucus.
