Affair of the Arts – This Weekend Downtown

downloadThe 4th AFFAIR OF THE ARTS in Downtown Culver City will be held on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, and will feature fine and functional art, music, activities for kids and an interactive art project titled “What Matters?”, a response to the turmoil happening across the United States and an illustration that art can play an important role in social justice and bringing people together to explore important issues — intentional planning by the event’s producers from TheWhole9.com and The Peace Project who believe that “Art Changes People and People Change the World.”

Most of the 60 participating artists hail from Southern California and include painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramicists, wood workers, glass blowers and jewelry artists. A number of them including painter Jim Tutwiler, new media artist Richard Rownak and jewelry artist Wesla Weller, hail from Culver City. The event will also feature eclectic music from some of LA’s most loved musicians, snacks from popular food trucks, workshops, and glass-blowing demonstrations. Admission is free.
