2014-june-1-mThe Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center is proud to announce the 25th anniversary of their founding. The group serves as the fundraising arm of the Health Center which provides free mental and physical health care to Culver City students. The celebration will be held as part of the group’s annual major fundraiser on Saturday, February 21st at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Culver City. Three outstanding community members will be honored at the event for their tireless efforts in support of children and families.
Dave LaRose, Superintendent of the Culver City Unified School District, is one of the Health Center’s greatest supporters. He is an advocate for educating the “whole child” assuring each student in each school is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
Judy and Michael Bauer are 36 year residents of Culver City who have tirelessly worked with many nonprofit community organizations toward the betterment of the City. Judy is a founder of the Culver City Education Foundation and has dedicated herself to raising funds for the enrichment of our school district programs. Michael has served on many boards and committees, contributing his time and expertise to resolving community issues. Their many years of dedicated support of the Health Center have assured the continuation of services for the hundreds of students who visit the Health Center each year.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction, music provided by Ronnie Jayne, well known entertainer and Culver City resident, a no host bar, and continues with dinner, a performance by the High School Jazz Combo, and a live auction.
A unique online auction that begins January 31st and continues until February 10th will be part of the fundraising effort. The website is www.biddingforgood.com/SSYHC2015. Items on the site include restaurants, vacations, and household bargains.
