Fire Dept. Completes Annual Evaluations

The Fire Department recently completed its 2014 company and platoon evaluations. The evaluations are the culmination of over 18,000 training hours clocked by Culver City Fire Department members.

The evaluations required every company and platoon to perform a variety of timed tasks to demonstrate their individual and company competency levels. Some of the tasks included: donning personal protective gear and self-contained breathing apparatus; demonstrating fire ground survival techniques; and utilizing a variety of communication methods.

According to City Manger John Nachbar, “The time and effort Department members dedicated to training throughout the year was evident, as all individuals and companies exceeded Department standards.”
