Lions Club Hosted Thanksgiving Dinner @ Senior Center

-1There was so much to be thankful for last Thursday, November 27 when the Culver City Lions Club served free meals to 250 seniors at the Culver City Senior Center. Culver City Lions President Dick Sharpe gave an official welcome to the hungry and happy crowd, and the Lions and their families served the meal.

Thanksgiving Meal Chairman Elliot Heffler was in and out of the kitchen, making sure that all ran smoothly, from the mashed potatoes to the “isn’t Thanksgiving without it “pumpkin pie.

Miss America Pageant Director Lynn Miller coordinated performances by two local winning candidates, Culver Center Flowers donated flowers and Golden State Water funded the trimmings.  Miss America candidates sang to the diners and senior center volunteers. Sorrento Italian Market donated the turkey, expertly prepared by Dick Sharpe for the 35th consecutive year.

We are all thankful for our local Lions chapter, who do so much for Culver City.
