AVPA Danger Zone Dances Original Works Nov. 6 and 7

-1The Danger Zone Dance Project launches its 2014-15 season with a rare fall performance of original works by the students and teachers of the AVPA Dance Department at Culver City High School. Highlights of the evening – a more streamlined, experimental counterpart to the company’s traditional spring show – include:

A performance of Yesterday’s Tomorrow, choreographed by AVPA contemporary dance teacher Sadie Yarrington and premiered by the Advanced Contemporary class at the Odyssey Theater this October. Set to “Daffodil’s Lament” by The Cranberries, the dance explores how a community can support, strengthen, and inspire individuals to overcome life’s obstacles.
New works created and performed by AVPA’s ballet/jazz, advanced ballet/jazz, contemporary, advanced contemporary and choreography classes.
Lighting by students from the AVPA Lighting Class, who will experiment with the newest techniques they’re learning.
