The Culver City High School FIRST Robotics Team 702, nicked named “The Bagel Bytes,” presents their annual Haunted House to the public this coming Saturday October 26 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Begin the Halloween season by your visit to the Haunted House. Come to Room 91 on the high school campus; enter the high school at the Huron and Braddock entrance. Admission is $3.00. Robotics team members plan, build and act in the Haunted House and each year their scary fun is build around a surprise theme.
The Haunted house is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Robotics team. Proceeds will support the building of a new robot once the design challenge is announced in January 2014 and help send Robotics Team 702 to two regional competitions next March 2014. Team members have six weeks starting in January to build a robot that competes against robots from other teams in completing a set of designated objectives. Last season, Team 702 build a robot designed to shoot flying discs into narrow slots and to climb a pyramid. Through these activities, high school students are introduced to engineering and science through the nonprofit FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
