Solar Work Continues as Fall Session Approaches

The Culver City Unified School District has engaged in an exciting facilities project to install solar panels in various locations throughout the District. Among the benefits at Farragut Elementary School will be shaded areas for the students on the playground and field, several new high quality “Fox” benches under the shade structure, a new basketball court and ball wall, new coating for the playground pavement, new striping for playground games, special striping under the shade structure for student games and new backstops on the field. Additional benefits of the solar project include reduction in utility costs for CCUSD, and less reliance on carbon-based fuels for electricity production.

As a result of the solar project at Farragut, there will be limited parking for the first three weeks of the school year and a modified student pick-up and drop-off procedure.
