Our own Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D- 54) will be hosting her 3rd Annual “Christmas in July” on Saturday, July 13 at Kenneth Hahn Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. That date might seem to be a ways off, but now is the time to get someone you know on the guest list; think of it as secret summer santa sorta stuff.
“I am asking your organization and other nonprofits, churches and schools in the district to nominate deserving children between the ages of 7 and 14 and their families to participate in the event.” Mitchell created this event to give children in challenging situations a special moment in the summer to relax and have fun.
“You can nominate a child and/or family here by June 14, 2013. There will be booths with interactive games, learning opportunities, family resources and other fun activities. A special guest (Santa) has been invited to deliver surprise gifts to select guests.
