Farragut Elementary’s Artworks!, the school’s annual fundraiser supporting arts education, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Once again, Culver City parents prove that helping kids get a well-rounded education can be a lot of fun!
Artworks! has three components.The entire community is invited to the school’s campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 for Artworks! for Kids, a fun, free celebration of arts education in our schools. Families will enjoy performances, workshops and art happenings throughout the day. Lunch, desserts and coffee drinks will be available for purchase. Groups from schools throughout Culver City will take the stage, as well as the fabulous Street Drum Corps and some shreddin’ pro skateboarders. Workshops range from candlemaking to RockSTAR to a group art piece entitled “Metropolis III,” a kids’ version of a piece on display at LACMA.
The Artworks! Online Auction is open for business from April 14 through April 24. You can access it at FarragutFanClub.org. More than 300 great items are available – vacations, restaurant gift cards, movie and sports collectibles, fine art, kids’ camps and much, much more. Whether you’re interested in a cooking class with a world-renowned pastry chef or awesome tickets to see Justin Bieber, make sure to check it out!
The Artworks! 10th Anniversary Soiree is a grownups-only party that will be held at the beautiful Fresh Paint Art Gallery in Culver City on Saturday, April 20. Dinner, drinks, a DJ and live jazz will make for a great celebration of parent power. All are welcome, but purchase your tickets in advance at FarragutFanClub.org – this party is always sold out!
