Expo Bridge Gets Site

The building of the Venice Boulevard bridge for the Expo Line light rail extension to Santa Monica is so epic, the construction authority has launched a website solely devoted to the project, with everything including construction news and live traffic reports. According to Curbed the bridge, which will carry trains over Venice and Robertson Boulevards and allow a seamless ride from the existing Culver City station to the under-construction Palms stop. The construction will take nine months and the work zone is next to an off-ramp for the 10 freeway, so it’ll be a little rough. Here’s what you need to know if you’re driving through the area:

Venice Boulevard
Eastbound Venice Blvd will be reduced to two through-lanes and one left-turn lane between Culver and Robertson Boulevards. Right turns will be prohibited for trucks at Robertson Blvd.

Westbound Venice between Vera Avenue and Culver Boulevard will be reduced to two through-lanes. Left turns onto South Robertson Boulevard will be prohibited.

Robertson Boulevard
Robertson south of Venice will be reduced to one southbound lane and two northbound lanes. Left turns onto westbound Venice will be prohibited for trucks.

Eastbound 10
The Robertson off-ramp from the Eastbound 10 will be reduced to one through-lane shared with the left-turn lane onto eastbound Venice. The left and right turn lanes will remain.
