So what’s new in Our Town? The Culver City Exchange Club’s Annual Disability Carnival for Children was reported by Bulletin Editor Larry Burns as being “… rewarding and a pleasure last Sunday. Earl Eskridge was fined for dropping the first burger through the grill. We served a lot of Cotton Candy. Lot of volunteers helped make it a big success…” The kids’ enjoyment made it yet another worthwhile project for this busy service club. Members welcomed Dave Ashcraft back into the fold last week – Dave anticipates he’ll be attending regularly, at least until May…
The Culver City Garden Club’s next meeting is set for this Tuesday, November 6 (Election Day!), at 7:30 p.m. at Star Education, 10117 Jefferson Blvd. (between Raintree and Duquesne). The program for the evening is “Pets in the Garden,” with Jane Brackman, author of Raising Dogs in Your Bungalow Garden. Also on the agenda is the election of 2013 Board Officers, voting on changing the meeting start time to 7:00 p.m., and of course the eagerly anticipated Plant Raffle, Show, Tell & Ask Table, and refreshments (provided this month by Carol Evans and Beverly Newton). Visitors are always welcome, and if the meeting time is changed to half an hour earlier, we’ll bet it’ll be even more popular!
Bond. James Bond – or better yet, Craig. Daniel Craig? (Works for us!) Sony Pictures Entertainment is hosting Culver City Chamber of Commerce members, their co-workers, family and friends at a special movie screening of “Skyfall” on Wednesday, November 14 in the Cary Grant Theater, Sony Pictures Studios, 10202 W Washington Blvd, entrance and parking at the Madison Ave Gate.
