Mayor Andy Weissman and council member Jim Clarke reached a bridge with Mike Bonin of the city of Los Angeles on Sept. 11 at 5 pm. It was the Sawtelle bridge across Ballona Creek, and they were there to consider the placement of the crosswalk approved by the Culver City Council in August.

“See, here you have proof, we are trying to get the city of L.A. into the process with us,” commented Weissman. Bonin was affable, noting the cyclists crossing from Los Angeles into Culver City and the pedestrian traffic in both directions.”There’s a real need here, no doubt.”

The proposed crosswalk is unlikely to be available for use before in January of 2013, but the process has begun.
