Expo Line Testing Schedule Starting – Trains Moving !

We wish to advise you of the following testing schedule for the Metro Expo Line:

TUESDAY, MAY 29 – SATURDAY, JUNE 2:
Testing for the Metro Expo Line Culver City Station to occur, intermittently, from approximately 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM.
Trains will be running between the La Cienega Station (at La Cienega Blvd. and Jefferson Blvd.) and the Culver City Station (at Venice Blvd. and Robertson Blvd.)

In addition to the train testing, certain emergency drills need to be conducted in order to open the Culver City Station. Metro is coordinating these drills with local law enforcement, fire department, and other agencies.

WHERE: In the vicinity of the intersection of National Blvd. and Hayden Ave.

WHEN: WEDNESDAY, MAY 30, 2012

9:00 AM until 12:00 NOON

DRILL WILL BE CONDUCTED RAIN OR SHINE

WHAT: Emergency drill involving a train versus simulated pedestrian on the train tracks.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Westbound curb lane on National Blvd. (in the vicinity of Hayden Ave.) will be closed to ALL vehicle traffic during the drill time frame. However, National Blvd. will remain open to all traffic.
Do not enter the areas described above.
Due to the drill, there will be numerous law enforcement vehicles and fire equipment in the area.

(Metro Expo Line service from 7th/Metro Station to La Cienega/Jefferson Station begins at approximately 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM.)

REMEMBER: Expect train movement at ANYTIME. Train movement is dynamic and subject to change.

Please ALWAYS follow these important Safety Tips:

Be alert at all times when near train tracks.
Please obey ALL warning signs and traffic signals when crossing the tracks.
Watch for trains from both directions.
NEVER walk, sit or stand on railroad tracks.
Remember to push the pedestrian crossing button to activate the “Walk” signal.
Use the crosswalks. Never jaywalk across the tracks or use the tracks as a shortcut.
Always look both ways before crossing the street.
