CC Youth Health Gets More Than Change from Exchange Club

Friends Co-Presidents: Diana Hauptman and Andy Alexander, Exchange Club President: Xavier Nuques, and Exchange Club President-Elect: Bruce Popkin.

The Exchange Club of Culver City recently donated $5,000 to the Friends of the Culver City Youth Health Center. The Club has been instrumental in providing funding to the Health Center since its inception in 1989. It is directly responsible for the expansion and services provided for mental health which are delivered by the Los Angeles Child Development Center. Over 300 Culver City students receive support each school year under the direction of Francine Bartfield, Ph.D. and Cecile Falk, LCSW. Additionally, they have a staff of twelve interns, marriage and family counselors, and other trained personnel to give aid and assistance to our children.

  1. BRAVO to the Exchange Club for helping to support the much needed services provided at the Youth Health Center! In these very tough times, it is more critical than ever that young people be able to access health care, both physical and mental.

Teens are under tremendous pressure. Personal stress, economic uncertainty, and the barrage of “news” (mostly negative) from constant media exposure take their toll, and mental health is often ignored until a crisis occurs.

Kudos also to Andy Alexander and Diana Hauptman for continuing to work to keep the Center alive. Their commitment to our youth is deeply appreciated.
