Zoom Room Culver City is hosting a celebration of four-legged companions throughout the city from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24. The local dog training business and canine social club that specializes in dog agility is sponsoring the event, intended to remind Culver City pet owners what it means to be a good dog parent.
In honor of the American Kennel Club’s Responsible Dog Ownership Day in September, Zoom Room locations across the country are holding events to educate first-time dog owners about the responsibilities of dog ownership and to help current owners enhance their relationships with their pets. Zoom Room Culver City will offer a variety of free activities fun for the whole family, and will be accepting monetary donations and supplies to benefit SpcaLA’s DART, a mobile command post which contains a full communications system that is capable of monitoring and dispatching emergency services during disasters to provide temporary shelter for animals and front-line veterinary care.
Responsible Dog Ownership Day at Zoom Room Culver City will feature education, acupuncture, massage and more in honor of all dogs. Education begins with Dr. Orme from the Centinela Animal Hospital who will be talking about dog’s health and the benefit of canine acupuncture. Additionally, there will be a representative from the spcaLA’s Disaster Animal Response Team discussing emergency planning, a member of the spcaLA discussing the benefits of spay/neuter and adoption, and a representative from i Love Dogs discussing natural nutritional supplements.
Low-Cost microchipping will also be available for just $10 through a partnership with Found Animals. Proceeds from this fee go back to local animal rescue organizations. Dog owners must reserve a spot in advance by signing up online.
In order to really spoil your pooch, Zoom Room will host a complimentary masseuse to perform relaxing massages on your dog. Annie Siegmann from Ruff Ruff Bakery will also be demonstrating how to make natural nutritious meals and delicious treats to share with canines.
