Earth Day Volunteers Needed – Join Ballona Creek Renaissance

Once again Ballona Creek Renaissance (BCR) will have booths and activities at several Earth Day events, starting this Sunday! Volunteering at a booth or activity is an easy and enjoyable way to educate yourselves and others about the many BCR-related issues, accomplishments, and ways to participate.Choose the best time for you and come and help celebrate the planet.

Sunday, April 10, 10-4 (approx. 8:30am set-up): Star Eco Station Children’s Earth Day, 10101 Jefferson Blvd., Culver City (at Pearson St.)

Saturday, April 23, either of two events: 9:30am-12:30pm: Ballona Wetlands Earth Day Restoration and Clean-up with Friends of Ballona Wetlands (plus set-up and take-down; details forthcoming)

11-6: EarthFestLA, Kenneth Hahn Park (www.earthfestla.org)

Saturday, April 29, “Bag It” screening and discussion (http://www.bagitmovie.com/) at Loyola Marymount University

This Saturday April 9 from from 9am to noon, stop by the bake sale fundraiser at our adopted community garden overlooking Centinela Creek at Mesmer and Beatrice in Del Rey (flier attached). And after that, if you feel like doing some wetlands care, check out the Ballona Stewards monthly event near the ball fields between the bike path and Culver Boulevard (www.ballona.org).
