“Alice” Auditions at Kentwood Coming Soon

The Kentwood Players are delighted to announce auditions for the next Kentwood Kids Production of Lewis Carroll’s classic and loved story “Alice in Wonderland” to be directed by Jeremy Speed Schwartz and Meredith M. Sweeney. This two-act adaptation follows Alice as she journeys down the rabbit hole and encounters all the quirky, colorful and crazy residents of Wonderland, as well as a few surprises along the way! Performances will take place on Saturdays, November 20 & 27 and December 4 & 11 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 from 10:00am-12:00noon at the Westchester Playhouse, located two blocks west of the San Diego Freeway and two blocks north of Manchester at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester, CA 90045. Auditions are open to children ages 6-16 years old and will consist of cold-readings from the script. Those auditioning will also be taught a selection of music from the show. There is no need to prepare anything, but the directors ask that you be familiar with the book (not the movie) and come ready to have fun!

Rehearsals will be Monday thru Wednesday 6:00pm to 8:00pm with rehearsals on Saturdays and Sundays as well. Not everyone will be needed at every rehearsal and the schedule will be based on cast availability. Please bring your calendars and conflicts with you to auditions!

This is an ENSEMBLE show and most cast members will play two or three (or more) characters and will participate in group scenes. We are looking for creative kids who want the challenge of playing more than one role and be willing to work together as a team!
