Transition Hosts Repurposing Old Clothes

It’s all too common; a favorite shirt, pair of jeans or jacket has one flaw, and it goes off to the trash. Imagine being ale to save those clothes, not just from the landfill, but for future use.  Join the Transition crowd on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m  for this popular event. Revive an old favorite shirt by adding a ruffle or pattern of beads or buttons. Transform a skirt into a sweet sundress for a little girl. You won’t believe what can be made from a tired pair of jeans!

Bring a sack of clean, old clothes to donate, and any extra sewing supplies such as beads, buttons, ribbons, elastic and the like. Then mix and match with other finds and let your creativity flow.

NO SEWING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY: There will be folks on hand to help with designing, cutting, pinning and sewing. Children are welcome with a parent.

If you missed the first Repurposing Clothes session hosted by Transition Mar Vista in July, here’s another opportunity to create functional, wearable art while enjoying the companionship of Transition friends old and new.
