All New Picnic for The Culver City Historical Society

This year’s annual Culver City Historical Society Picnic and meeting on Wednesday, July 21, will have an all new flavor, and what a flavor it will be! A savory catered dinner will be cooked in the picnic area in Veterans Memorial Park by Jim Rodriques of Santa Maria BBQ Restaurant, who will demonstrate the special techniques that have made his Downtown Culver City eatery so popular. Rodriques will start the grills at 5 p.m. with his tri-tip beef roasts and juicy chickens, which will be served with chili beans, potato salad, green salad, garlic bread, homemade cookies and soft drinks. Picnic-goers will meet at 5:30 p.m. for soft drinks and conversation, and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The price for this picnic dinner is $25 per person, and reservations are required. However, if reservations are paid in advance by July 16, the price is $20 per person. All CCHS members, their family and friends, and the community are invited to attend.

The event will feature music by the local RAZZMATAZZ Dixieland Jazz Ensemble, and there will be free gifts and lots of door prizes.

The CCHS board will hold a brief meeting and announce the winner and introduction of its recent Logo Competition.

Reservations for tickets (which will be picked up at the picnic) should be sent by July 16 with a $20 check or money order for each person to CCHS; P.O. Box 3428, Culver City CA, 90231-3428. Tickets on the night of the event will be $25.
