Scoop!- Jaffe is Tapped for Interim Superintendent

Former Assistant Superintendent Patti Jaffe has been chosen as the Interim Superintendent for the Culver City Unified School District, replacing Dr. Myrna Rivera Cote after her departure.  Final approval is pending, and the school board will be voting on her appointment at a special meeting on June 24 at 6 p.m. at the district office The choice is one that will please both the teachers union and many of the parents, who have been writing letters on her behalf.

Jaffe has been with the district for 40 years, in many capacities from teacher to principal to administration. Her ardent supporters felt that she was the obvious choice to take over as Superintendent, and her familiarity with all the issues being faced by the district will make the transition easy. Jaffe will begin her duties on July 1.

School Board Vice President Scott Zeidman said he was “very excited, and confident that Ms. Jaffee will be an excellent interim, and the ideal person to get us over this bridge.”

The district is expected to confirm Jaffe as the Interim Superintendent at a special meeting of the school board tomorrow.
