Since Sunday is your last chance to get to the Robert Frost Auditorium at 3 p.m. and catch the matinee of “Darn Yankees”, I have to rave about it right now.
The very first production from the CCMS theater company is so terrific, you will really walk out humming the tunes. The cast (credited as 50% completely new to theater) was so energetic, so ardent and so gosh darn cute, they were just unforgettable.
While I do appreciate the grown ups in charge of the program striving to give the whole ensemble equal billing, those who stand out really shine.
You know the show- middle aged baseball fanatic sells his soul to the devil to help his team win the pennant, with an escape clause. The anthem “You Gotta Have Heart” was easy to turn into the slogan for the whole enterprise.
I could toss more at you, but just swing and connect. Get to the show.
