Dear Editor- Culver Crest Meeting- Just Add Oil and Shake

Dear Editor,
With an active 7.4 quake line in our nearby oil fields, a major earthquake in an unmitigated oil field will create an unthinkable disaster!

In the wake of the tragedy and continuing environmental catastrophe unfolding
off the Coast of Louisiana, Pedro Nava, chair of the California Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety & Toxic Materials held an Investigative Hearing last week at Culver City Hall on the Risks of Oil Drilling especially in the Los Angeles Basin & Baldwin Hills.

The Culver Crest Neighborhood Association (CCNA) has invited an oil field expert, Dr. Tom Williams to tell us how the Baldwin Hills Oil Field infrastructure
could be retrofitted to mitigate the deadly effects on an earthquake or man-made disaster.

Given the clear and ever present danger to our well being from the oil field operations, CCNA has also invited State Assembly candidates, Reginald Jones-Sawyer, Holly Mitchell, and Robert L. Jones to tell us their position and if elected what they intend to do to promote our safety.

Please come and express your concerns at the CCNA General Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, May 26 at Marycrest Manor, which is located at 10664 Saint James Drive Culver City, CA 90230.

On behalf of the Culver Crest Neighborhood Association,
Dr. Suzanne De Benedittis, PhD
